Celestia Raises the Sun by SagebrushPony Celestia Raises the Sun by SagebrushPony
After some very insistent prodding by parties who shall not be named (but will probably name themselves), I finally decided to draw a younger Celestia after this scene came to mind.

Although it may not be the sun, Celestia is dead set on making sure this little flower grows up to be as big and bright as it can be.

I know why celestia's hair were pink when she was a filly, its because when she used the elements of harmony she got a rainbow !

Good. Might be better if she were a blank-flank (and the can too)... gives more of the "very young and thus even cuter" feel. I do believe they DID have parents according to Fyre-Flye/Faust.

Heh, I like to think she earned the cutie mark if by sheer virtue of how well she's doing with those flowers.

We all have to start somewhere, and the lovely filly is so much more adorable for her severe determination, evidenced by her tongue sticking out and the way she's curled up her foreleg tensely; she didn't even notice her rear leg rising to keep her balanced. Besides the sweet young princess the flower itself looks bright and even happy for the attention. (It's almost smiling right at her.) The rest of the field and thin clouds give it a hot and hazy feeling, probably an afternoon where her flowers really could use the extra drink. It's a great scene of how a little filly starts to grow by taking her interests to seriously.

Let's hope that when Princess Celestia receives Twilight Sparkle in the garden that Her Most Faithful Student doesn't mistake it for a snack.
